STATE CHAMPIONS!!
The Basha Indoor Percussion Ensemble did it again! For the second straight year, the group won a state championship, this year in the Scholastic Open class! This means that there are no other high school groups above the Basha Indoor Percussion Ensemble. The group competed at Desert Ridge HS on Saturday, April 5th and won with a score of 88.6. This is a great way to finish the WGAZ circuit. The group travelled to Dayton, OH for World Championships from April 17-19. Although the group did not advance to the semifinals, this was a great learning experience! The students did not hang their heads, but focused on the accomplishments that have been made and are rearing to go for next year!

Colorguard Takes 6th!
The Basha Winter Guard finished their season convincingly with a 6th place finish in Scholastic A. State Championships were held Saturday, April 19th at Desert Vista HS. This is the highest finish that the guard has ever experienced and we're all very proud of how far they have come this year! With only one graduating senior, the future of the colorguard program looks very bright! Way to go Bears!

We just received another check for almost $500, and all you did was buy groceries! How easy is that? Fry's Gift Cards are a great and easy way to support your Basha Bands. Basically, use the gift cards that you order and we get a percentage. You need groceries right? Of course you do...you have teenagers. Once your gift card is running down, refill it at the Customer Service desk at Frys, then use it again and again for grocery purchases. Bashas' Shoppers
For those of you who shop at Bashas', we are also receiving funding from them. Next time you are in Bashas', have customer service link your card to account number 24523 and we receive a percentage of your sales! The program has ended for this year, but will restart again September 1st, 2008 for next year.

Now that the Basha Band has secured our own equipment truck, we have the opportunity to partner with various businesses. If you are interested in joining Texas Roadhouse, Water 'n Ice, Weinerschnitzel and SASC Southwest (all of whom we are now advertising on our equipment truck, please email Tracey Sweeney for more information. Tracey can also give band parents and students information to pass along to any interested businesses you might know.
