Basha Jazz 1
This ensemble meets during the school day and is for the most advanced jazz performers at Basha High School. They perform a variety of different jazz literature, with an emphasis on improvisation. This ensemble performs concerts in and around Chandler, Arizona and is building a strong reputation for great performance. They are called on to perform at numerous "gigs" around Chandler. Saxophone players are encouraged to double on flute and/or clarinet.

Jazz Combo
This ensemble meets outside of the school day once a week for two or three hours. The group is made up of students who are also members of Basha Jazz 1. They perform standard jazz combo literature, with a heavy emphasis on transcription and improvisation. This ensemble is available for hire and will perform for various events, including corporate functions, business meetings, private parties and grand openings. Basha Jazz 2
This intermediate ensemble, which meets during the school day, provides basic instruction in jazz-related rhythm, tone, style, concept, listening skills, woodwind doubling possibilities and improvisation. The ultimate goal of this ensemble is to give interested students an opportunity to study and perform jazz ensemble literature. Students are also encouraged to continue with the jazz program and audition for Jazz 1 upon completion of a year of Jazz 2.
