Roberto Paz - Caption Head

Roberto Paz grew up in the Phoenix area where he attended Maryvale High School. Roberto was a member of Maryvale's marching band for all four years and even participated in Arizona State University's Winter Drumline in 2007 during his senior year. He was also a member of The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps from 2004-2007. During this time, he had the great experience of performing with The Academy when they won their first World Championship title in 2006. Roberto later went on to march the Concord Blue Devils from 2008-2010. During these years, he was a part of two undefeated world championships and an undefeated Fred Sandford Percussion Award. He even had the privilege to be the drum captain in 2010. At Arizona State, Roberto is studying music education and studies with percussion professors J.B. Smith, Dr. Mark Sunkett, Dom Moio, and has also been taught by ASU graduate Bill Sallak. In addition to his work with the Arizona State University Sun Devil Marching Band, Roberto currently teaches private lessons, as well as percussion at Basha High School.

Taylor Willis-Highers - Percussion Instructor

  Taylor Willis-Highers was born and raised in Chandler, Arizona. She started playing percussion at the age of 9. Taylor has played in various percussion settings including concert, jazz, as well as marching percussion. She was an avid member of the Basha High School band program and is now in the ASU drumline and teaching in the program.
